What causes warts?

And causes a rapid growth of skin cells. Warts are contagious and can be spread from skin to skin. However, there are different strains of the virus. Resulting in different levels of contagion.
Someone who is taking medication to suppress their immune system. Or who has a weak immune system may be more vulnerable to the HPV virus?
